Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to the therapeutic relationship.

Where an organisation funds an employee’s counselling or psychotherapy, the therapeutic relationship remains between the practitioner and the employee. Information disclosed during therapy is not ordinarily provided to the employer without the employee’s consent.

As with any counselling or psychotherapy relationship, confidentiality has defined limits, including circumstances where disclosure may be required by law or where serious safety concerns require action. These boundaries are explained to employees before therapeutic work begins.

Any agreed organisational reporting is structured to protect individual confidentiality.
